Tagine Meat Balls


Ingredients
For the sauce:
1/2 cup grated onion
1 can of chopped tomatoes
2 cloves chopped garlic
1 tsp ginger powder
1 pinch paprika
1 pinch safforan powder
1 pinch tumeric
1 tbsp cumin powder
chopped coriander
salt to taste

For the meatballs
2 tbsp grated onions
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp paprika
salt and pepper to taste
chopped coriander

Method
In a shallow pan add all the ingredients of the sauce and bring to a simmer for about 15 minutes.

Meanwhile mix all the ingredients for the meatballs and make small balls the size of walnuts makes roughly 20.

Then place the balls in the sauce and simmer for 30-40 minutes . Then break 6 eggs and simmer for a further 10 minues or till the eggs are set.

If using a Tajine :
Pre heat oven at 200 c
Transfer the sauce to the tajine and  place the meatballs in the tajine plate.
Place this in the oven at 200 c for 30-40 minutes.
Then break 6 eggs and simmer for a further 10 minues or till the eggs are set.
Tips:
You can eat this with turkish bread or better still if you get morrocan bread. Tastes equally good with rice.
