Teen Dal Mix

Ingredients
3 tbsp of split masoor dal
3 tbsp of chana dal
3 tbsp of tuvar dal or pigeon peas
1 tsp garlic flakes
2 green chillis split
2 dry red chilli
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp cumin seeds
Salt to taste
3 tbsp ghee
2 cups water
Finely chopped coriander leaves for garnish
Method
Wash and allow the dals to soak for 30 minutes.
Heat 2 tbsp of ghee in a pressure cooker add cumin seeds and allow them to splutter. Add the green, red chillies,garlic flakes and allow them to release flavour in the oil. Then add the red chilli powder and immediately add dal. Allow it to roast for about 3 minutes.Then add the turmeric, salt and water. Close the pressure cooker and allow 3 whistle to be given.  Lower the heat and allow to cook further for 10 minutes before turning off the stove.
Allow all the pressure to escape before opening the cooker.
Serve in your serving dish and add the remaining ghee and coriander leaves.
Notes:
This is just enough for 2 people so if you have a large family to serve just double the recipe.
