2 Potatoes washed and sliced
Salt to taste
1 cup Chick pea flour
1/2 tsp Turmeric
1/2 tsp chilli powder
Salt to taste
2 cups water
Oil for frying
pinch of baking soda
Method:
In 2 cups of water added atleast 3 tsp of salt.Thoroughly wash the potatoes and slice. Soak the potatoes in the salty water for atleast 30 mins.
In a seperate bowl mix together besan, salt, chilli powder and turmeric powder, add water slowly just enough to make a thick paste.Set it aside for 30 minutes.
Drain and pat dry the potato slices on a kitchen towel.
Add a pinch of baking soda to the besan mixture just before adding the potato slices.
Dip the potato slices in the besan mixture and deep fry them till done.
Serve hot with tomato sauce.
Tips:
Do not make the besan mixture very runny otherwise the potatoes will not have any coating.
Notes:
This is a very yummy dish to savour on a rainy day with family & friends watching an old flick.
